The highest rates of caries are observed in children with somatic pathology. Among children diseases, diseases of the musculoskeletal system (DMSS) and undifferentiated connective tissue dysplasia (UCTD) are growing. The aim of the study was to assess the levels of intensity of caries of temporary teeth in children with pathology of MSS and UCTD, taking into account the urinary excretion of calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. A total of 232 5-year-old children attending kindergartens, based on which there are specialized groups for children with DMSS, were monitored. For this study, children were divided into three groups of 30 people: I – children with DMSS and dental caries; II – children with DMSS on the backgroundof UCTD and dental caries; III – children with dental caries without somaticpathology (comparison group). The prevalence (in%) and intensity (kp) of caries,as well as the levels of caries intensity were studied according to PA Leus(1989).Inorganic phosphorus in daily urine was determined by the Dooze method;magnesium concentration – photometric method with xylidyl blue; theconcentration of total calcium was determined by photometric method with arsenase III. Statistical processing was performed using the Shapiro-Wilk test, calculating the arithmetic mean and its average error (M ± m), using the Students test (t). Significantly higher incidence of caries of temporary teeth in five-year-old childrenwith pathology of the musculoskeletal system than in children of the comparisongroup. The results of the study revealed significantly higher urinary excretion oftotal calcium in children with DMSS on the background of NDST compared withchildren with DMSS and healthy children.Magnesium excretion rates were above normal in children with DMSSon the background of NDST, and in children with DMSS and children inthe comparison group were within normal limits. Urinary excretion of inorganicphosphorus remained within normal limits in all groups of children. It was alsofound that with increasing RIK excretion of mineral components increasedsignificantly, especially in children with DMSS on the background ofUCTD. Therefore, the results indicate impaired mineral metabolism in children with DMSS,which is more pronounced in children with DMSS on the background of UCTD,which should be considered in the future when developing anticaries prophylacticcomplex for children with this pathology.
