In the article the place of clinical competitions in the professional development of interns in specialty “Dentistry”. They can encourage, motivate learning, interns engage in active forms of learning. The article contains information about the history of Ukrainian professional contest dentists “The way the world of excellence”. The department organized the first courses on standard technology restoration, and then – “Academic training center”. The objectives of the Center are: improving the learning process according to the socio-economic conditions of the state, structural changes in the field of medicine, improve training of dentists. This provision formed the basis of competition. Organizers have set goals: popularization and implementation of dentist modern technology, high-quality filling materials and devices; production quality standard of the dentist in restoration techniques; information to the public about the possibility of high-quality treatment. Examples of professional development of interns is phased International Competition restoration of clinical cases of medical schools CERAM X CASE CONTEST (GCCC), which is held at the department since 2012 One of the tasks of the competition is the introduction of interns with the latest developments and training in new technologies in the field aesthetic restoration. Hold contests like this, gives interns a chance to try their hand in aesthetic restorations before independent work, encourages self-improvement and professional growth. Given the relevance of infection control in dentistry since 2008 the Department together with the Department of Infectious Diseases held Ukrainian contest of professional skills and the seminar “Recent infections and their prevention”. The possibility of self-expression, motivation to learn, commitment to quality standards of treatment, visibility, promotion of training in training centers suggest a clinical contests effective forms of postgraduate education.
