Goal. Clinical and laboratory evaluation of dental status in patients with mental disorders. Methods. Conducted a comprehensive dental examination of 220 patients with schizophrenia, 208 people without mental and somatic pathology, which formed the control group and 190 patients suffering from borderline mental illness in age from 20 to 45 years. All of the surveyed psychiatric patients in the past three years have been treated, regardless of whether they have different forms of systemic diseases. All patients with schizophrenia and other mental disorders was conducted clinical and psychological research with the definition of reactive and personal anxiety by the method of spielberger – Hanin. The study of dental status was performed according to the method of the who, the prevalence and intensity of defeat of hard tissues of teeth dental caries was evaluated according to the DMF index, at the same time determined the rate of secretion of saliva, viscosity of saliva, studied the state of acid-alkaline balance with a measurement of the acidity of saliva. Results. The influence of functional disorders in the body on the state of dental health in young people, and also the streets older is active, broad and manifests itself very negatively in relation to the prevalence of defects of hard dental tissues and, consequently, the number of extracted teeth or roots to be removed, destroyed as a result of dental caries in the structure of the Communist party. Factor is the presence of somatic pathology has intense side effects on most components of the dental status of all social strata., no carious lesions of hard tissues of teeth, and as a result, large defects of dentition on both jaws, the increase in the average DMF index, increasing the number of teeth with caries treated with secondary recurrent caries, growth of the number of extracted teeth, that is, ultimately, the development of the body’s somatic pathology observed reduction in the percentage of individuals with low levels of the Communist party, and Vice versa among them, the growth in the number of people with its high level. Groups by age and structural analysis of the investigated index revealed significant differences in performance. Thus, in the study of the rate of release of saliva its maximum reduction and development against this background of xerostomia correspond to periods of treatment of patients, when administered the maximum doses of neuroleptics and antidepressants. In this case, also, an increase in viscosity of the oral fluid with a higher daily dose of medicines. Was conducted correlation analysis between the hygienic condition of the oral cavity and the intensity of defeat of hard tissues of the tooth and periodontal tissues in examined mental patients. The surveyed groups there was a strong correlation between the value of hygienic index and the index of the CPU. The value of the level of intensity of lesions of the periodontal tissues in the groups of mental patients has a high correlation with the viscosity of saliva. Conclusion. From mental patients at a low level is the sanitation of the oral cavity, due to some challenges related to working with patients with mental illness, a lack of regular dental examination in psycho-neurological dispensaries.
