The problem of mycosis due to their widespread last years has become increasingly relevant. Due to the deteriorating of socioeconomic and environmental situation in addition to the growing number of fungal infec tions, there is a change in their specific clinical manifestations. In the current period of rising interest of scientists and practitioners to fungal diseases of the outer ear canal. Study of fungal infections of the outer ear is associated with the points of many medical specialties: dermatology, allergology, toxicology. It is known that dysfunction of serumen glands plays a great role in the pathogenesis of contagious diseases of outer ear canal especially otomycosis as many authors decide. The role of ear wax is still unknown and is discussed by otolaryngologists. Many otopractitioners determine when inflammatory process in outer ear canal is observed the ear wax is absent. Increase or decrease of the serumen production and oil glands depends on several factors: temperature fluc tuations, mechanical damage, the use of medical substances, emotional and mental reactions. In contemporary literary source ¬ the morphological structure of serumen glands their topographic anatomy and inflammatory dis eases, including otomycosis is not presented. It is also unknown the secretory activity of serumen glands. The aim of the work – to determine the presence of fungi of the genus Aspergillus and Candida in the deep layers of the skin of the outer ear canal, the study of their effects on the epithelium of the ducts, acini of serumen glands considering changes in its secretory activity. It is proposed to define the term of inflammation of serumen glands as a ceruminitis. Object and methods of investigation. Material for the study was taken from the upper wall of the outer ear canal in membranouscartilaginous part in deaths between the ages of 30 to 74 years. Total persons 17, 9 of them women and 8 men. In the study of pieces taken from the upper wall of the outer ear canal in those first age group was observed 3 to 4 serumen glands had small acinar structure, 34 acinus, lined with cubic epithelium. In acini of glands observed isolated clusters of fungi that form its mycelium. In following microscopic study noted the presence of septum fungi 45 microns thick and condyloid heads, which together with the index of mycological research pieces of tissue of the outer ear canal, gives us reason to believe that in this case we observed fungi of the genus Aspergillus. Elements of fungi placed single individual groups close to the surface of epithelial cells. It is noted that when Candida ceruminitis of upper wall of the outer auditory canal there is serous, serocystic, serofibrinous form of the disease, indicating it easier course. While three Aspergillus lesions of serumen glands in middleaged observed serous, serocystic, serofibrinous ceruminitis, and in the elderly – fibrinousdesquamative and desquamativepurulent ceruminitis.
