The article presents an analysis of the study of the carrier of β-hemolytic streptococcus group B in pregnant women with premature rupture of membranes in preterm pregnancies in the aspect of the development of infectious processes in newborns, comparing them with modern literary data. The purpose of the study is to investigate the frequency of detection of S. agalactiae culture in pregnant women with premature membranes rupture in the gestational period of 22-34 weeks. Object and methods of the study. 131 pregnant women were divided into 4 groups: the first group – 32 pregnant in the 1st period of preterm labor with intact membranes within the period of 22-28 weeks, the second group – 33 pregnant women with premature rupture of the membranes in the period of 22-28 weeks, the third group – 34 pregnant women in the first period of preterm labor in the period of 28-34 weeks, IV group – 32 pregnant women with premature rupture of the membranes in the period of 28-34 weeks. In all pregnant women, microbiological examination of the smear from the perianal zone with the release of pure culture of S. agalactiae was carried out. Results and discussion. The frequency of detection of hemolytic streptococcus group B in the groups of preterm births with intact membranes does not exceed that in the population. Instead, in groups of premature rupture of the membranes, more than 80% of pregnant women were carriers of the specified pathogen. Among newborns from pregnant women with premature rupture of the membranes, the signs of congenital infection were twice as likely to be observed. Conclusions. 1. The frequency of detecting the culture of β-hemolytic streptococcus in pregnant women with premature rupture of membranes in preterm pregnancy is several times greater than that in the population. 2. The prevalence of manifestations of congenital infections in preterm infants from the breeder with premature rupture of the membranes requires a review of relevant clinical protocols for the administration of such pregnant women, taking into account the global experience of intrapartum antibiotic prophylaxis.
