QUALITATIVE EDUCATION OF STUDENTS OF THE DENTAL FACULTY IN THE REALITIES OF DISTANCE LEARNING

Abstract. The coronavirus pandemic has made adjustments to modern medical education by introducing distance learning for medical students, which was simply impossible a few years ago. Despite the fact that today is the era of global digitalization and a wide range of information and communication technologies, not all participants of the educational process were ready for the effective implementation of online learning. Teachers faced with a big amount of problems: the necessity to organize quickly online classes without the necessary methodological support, low motivation of students to effective self-education and technical problems. Objective: to consider the features of distance learning of students of the Faculty of Dentistry and choose areas for further optimization of the educational process. The usage of the distance learning server “MOODLE” greatly facilitates students’ independent work, provides them with reliable information and improves the assimilation of material. Direct contact with the teacher during online conferences in the Google Meet program provides an opportunity to discuss problematic issues and get detailed advices. Thus, distance learning should provide quality education of students of the Faculty of Dentistry in an emergency – a pandemic – conditions. It should combine productive interaction of the teacher with students with an individually-differentiated approach, application of facilitation technology, modern presentation of material and careful control of the educational process. Creating a strong theoretical base for students during distance learning, mastering algorithms for practical skills and forming clinical thinking by solving situational problems will help them to successfully implement their knowledge in practice under more favorable conditions in offline classes. The experience of using interactive technologies should be further actively implemented in traditional learning
