ORGANIZATION OF RESEARCH WORK OF STUDENTS IN THE STUDY OF INTERNAL MEDICINE AS A BACKGROUND IN THE FORMATION OF THE PROFESSIONAL PERSONALITY OF A DOCTOR

Abstract. Conducting research work of students at the department of internal medicine № 1 increases the effectiveness of training and promotes the formation of the professional personality of the doctor. The main structural unit of the organization of research work of the future doctor is a student research group, where the main form is the participation of students in research performed at the department. The atmosphere of the student research group allows future physicians to feel like a real specialist in their profession and scientists, and holding group meetings gives them the opportunity to understand the intricacies of the doctor’s work. The department has a scientific laboratory with various instrumental equipment for examination of patients, where future doctors have free access to practice. The scientific work involves students of 4-6 courses, who have repeatedly won at National and International scientific student conferences, All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conferences. Curation of an inpatient with a medical history is a variant of educational and research work in the study of internal medicine, which allows to consolidate the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The best medical histories in terms of content and design, which are evaluated by the teacher as «excellent» are submitted to the competition «Forthe best medical history». Rewarding students with monographsfrom the staff of the department and diplomas activates them to a more serious attitude in the performance of this work. Weekly clinical conferences are held for 6th year students, where reports are heard, supplemented by clinical analysis of case histories with patient demonstration. Thus, research activities at the department of internal medicine № 1 within the student research group and research work of each student, which is carried out in practical classes, forms a positive attitude of students to their future profession, improves the quality of training of future professionals who can apply knowledge, skills and abilities in practice.
