Forensic factors to verify the nature and consequences of mechanical injury of the lower extremities. The article is devoted to the necessary and relevant topic of forensic examination of living persons – a modern comprehensive forensic assessment of the latest features of the nature and consequences of mechanical trauma of the lower extremities. There is an urgent need for this, due to objective and subjective factors: outdated forensic criteria for determining the severity of injuries of the lower extremities due to partial involution of the musculoskeletal system under the negative influence of the social environment, as well as lawful law enforcement requirements, objectivity and evidence of forensic examinations in this area. The study was based on forensic and medical records of injured persons. The set of methods of studying the material included modern forensic, clinical, biomechanical and statistical-expert methods of research and analysis. Problem fields were identified during the forensic examination of victims in cases of no danger to life. The main types of modern mechanical trauma of the lower extremities are revealed. In cases of a person falling from a height, the uniform nature of injuries to the torso and lower extremities was registered. At an autotrauma bumper fragmentary diaphyseal fractures of a shin and a hip prevailed. Among epimetaphyseal fractures, the bones forming the knee joint were most often injured. The most characteristic were the front and front side collision of a moving car with a pedestrian. Assessment of the consequences of closed fractures in 81.9% of cases is classified as the average severity of injuries, and in 18.1% of cases severe injuries were found. The causes of complicated forms of fractures and their influence on the severity are shown. The results of biomechanical study of the bearing capacity of the lower extremities using the method of statography have been studied. The results of ultrasound diagnostics of the lower extremities were also obtained and structural and functional changes of the muscles of the affected extremity were revealed. According to the results of computational forecasting, the numerical values of the most informative prognostic coefficients for reliable risk factors for adverse effects of mechanical injury of the lower extremities have been established.
